Under normal circumstances, the Cayman Islands Triathlon Association holds 9 events each year.
The past 2 years have been a somewhat challenging, but we hope that during 2022 we can get back to hosting the events that you all love.
Each event is different, and is designed to test your stamina and build your endurance. Events include the 3-week Stroke & Stride Series, Try This Tri, and the Cayman Islands Duathlon.
All events lead up to the Association’s flagship event – the official Cayman Islands Triathlon.

Stroke and Stride Series
- May 18th 2022 – 200M Swim, 2 mile run
- May 25th 2022 – 400M Swim, 2 mile run
- June 1st 2022 – 800M Swim, 2 mile run
For swimmers and runners, the Stroke and Stride is the perfect event, testing your skills both in and out of the water. Event comprises of a swim followed by a 2 mile run. The swim distance for the first week is 200M, second week is 400M and the final week 800M.

For those who prefer to stay on dry land, the Duathlon combines cycling and running, working those legs to the max. Click HERE for more details.
Triathlon build-up series
- 16th October 2022 .
Your chance to practice your fitness and transition skills – we are holding a triathlon warm-up / build-up event on Sunday 16th October.
The build-up series are half the distances of the regular event distances:
Sprint: 375M Swim, 10km Bike, 2.5Km Run
Olympic: 750M Swim, 20km Bike, 5km Run
No fee, register on the morning of the event.
The transition area will be open from 6am for your bikes, in the carpark area at Governors Square, across the road from Governors Beach on Westbay Road.
Start time is 7am.
Please note that this is NOT a timed event.
- Sunday November 6th
For those seeking the ultimate test of endurance, there is the official Cayman Islands Triathlon, bringing all three disciplines together – Swimming, Cycling and Running.
We’re back for 2022 though – taking place this year Sunday November 6th.
Registration for the event is now open HERE
– Sprint Distance: 750M Swim, 20Km Bike, 5km Run
– Olympic Distance: 1500M Swim, 40Km Bike, 10Km Run
– Olympic Distance Team entry
The race will commence with the swim from Governors Beach.
